No. 2 Pioneers Produce Quartet of All-UCHC Honorees

ROCHESTER, NY - The UCHC released its All-Conference selections for the 2024-2025 season on Wednesday morning, with four Pioneer standouts being awarded All-UCHC recognition. The squad placed two players on the first team, along with one player each on the second team and all-rookie team. Each player also received their first ever UCHC All-Conference selection. Below are the Pioneers' 2024-2025 All-UCHC honorees.

#24 Jakob Breault (Acton Vale, QC/Alaska-Fairbanks (NCAA DI)) | Gr. | All-UCHC First Team

Breault has had an incredible season for the Pioneers, slotting in as their most versatile player throughout the course of the campaign. Not only has he been unbelievable on the draw, capturing 442 of a possible 627 faceoff opportunities (70.5% faceoff win rate), but he's also managed to cement himself as the leading point-getter on a Pioneer team who's offense currently ranks third in all of Division III with 4.46 goals per game. The willey veteran has tallied 14 goals in 17 assists in the 2024-2025 campaign, further solidifying his status as one of the most balanced players in all of Division III. If that weren't enough, he's also picked up a solid 21 blocked shots, the highest number on the team for non-defenders by a significant margin. Breault racked up three UCHC Player of the Week Awards throughout the course of the 2024-2025 regular season, and capped it off with a All-UCHC First Team nod.

#4 Aydin Parekh (Nobleton, ON/Georgetown Raiders (OJHL)) | So. | All-UCHC First Team

Parekh established himself as one of the premier playmakers across all competition in Division III, grabbing his first All-UCHC honor as a result. His first team ascension comes as a result of his veteran play at the back of the Pioneer formation, displaying a level of composure well above his sophomore status as he tallied an immense amount of assists, accruing 21 apples over the course of the season which places him 21st in all of Division III for total assists. His normal status as a top line defender alongside team Captain Brian Scoville (Agawam, MA/Alabama-Huntsville (NCAA DI)) has allowed him to show his class against opposing teams best attackers. The stellar sophomore grabbed 19 blocks during the campaign, holding down the Pioneers' defensive zone in dynamic fashion during just his second season with the team.

#17 Drake Morse (Grand Rapids, MI/Shreveport Mudbugs (NAHL)) | So. | All-UCHC Second Team

Morse managed to make himself one of the Pioneers' most dangerous weapons on offense during his sophomore campaign, ranking as the team's second leading point getter and also scoring in waves when at his peak, having three multi-goal games this year including a hat trick performance against Nazareth in January. The Michigan native picked up 12 goals and 17 assists during the regular season, also etching himself into Pioneer lore by grabbing this season's Teddy Bear Toss goal. He also did his best work at the very beginning and very end of games, scoring four opening goals while also netting three game winners. Morse managed to finish third on the team in +/-, posting a +22 for the season. The player directly above him in that category was…

#26 Anthony Bax (Parkhill, ON/Flin Flon Bombers (SJHL)) | Fr. | UCHC All-Rookie Team

Bax had an otherworldly first campaign in his rookie season with the team, managing a monopoly on the UCHC Rookie of the Week Award as he took home the honor three times throughout the course of the season. The freshman sensation often found himself on the top defensive line opposite Scoville, especially during the Thanksgiving Showcase Tournament which saw him achieve All-Tournament honors. Bax totaled one goal and 11 assists during the season, while also managing to finish second on the team in +/- with a +23. The future is bright for the Pioneers young defensemen, as he captured UCHC All-Rookie Team honors for his efforts.

The Pioneers, who achieved their ninth-straight regular season conference title directly before the UCHC Tournament, were not honored with any end of season individual UCHC awards. Although, the team recently eliminated the UCHC Player of the Year, Co-Goaltender of the Year, and Rookie of the Year from postseason play, taking down Chatham and award honorees Nick Cyprian and Geno Pichora by a 9-0 score in last weekend's UCHC Semifinal. The team will have a chance to claim victory over two more UCHC end of season honorees, with Defensive Player of the Year Sean Melso and Coach of the Year Chris Schultz visiting the Adirondack Bank Center this weekend alongside the Geneseo Knights for the League Championship. The Pioneers will take on their UCHC rival this Saturday as the two teams meet for a fifth time this season, this time with the UCHC Tournament Championship and the Division III NCAA Tournament automatic bid at stake.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM this Saturday at the Adirondack Bank Center. You can purchase tickets through this link: https://empirestatetix.evenue.net/events/UCP
