UTICA, NY - The Utica University men's lacrosse team hosts two home games against Hartwick College on Wednesday, April 26 at 4 p.m. and SUNY Geneseo on Saturday, April 26 at 1 p.m. The team will honor its six seniors on Saturday against Geneseo.

Ryan Considine (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) led Utica with four points off two goals and two assists.
Ryan Hollenbeck (Baldwinsville, NY/Charles W. Baker),
Quinn Orsini (Guilderland, NY/Guilderland) and
Lucas Donahue (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills Ballston Lake) scored once each, while
Colin Zouck (Williston, VT/Champlain Valley Union) and
Noah Erickson (Auburn, NY/Auburn) posted one helper each.
Patrick Oswald (Deer Park, NY/Deer Park) made 10 saves in between the pipes. The faceoff battle was neck and neck throughout the game as Alfred pulled away 12 to 11.
Cade Bourcy (Syracuse, NY/Skaneateles) went five for eight while
Trent Herlehy (Hamburg, NY/Frontier Central) and
Chase Nappi (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) combined for five wins.
Gianpaul Cooper (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) led the Pioneer defense with three caused turnovers.
Colin Musso (Auburn, NY/Auburn) totaled five groundballs and
Michael Mecca (Oceanside, NY/Oceanside) posted four. Utica was outscored 3-0 in the first quarter. The Pioneers scored five goals in the second quarter, all five of them coming consecutively between the 13:04 and 2:18 mark. The Saxons responded with a goal from Kevin Matson with 20 seconds remaining in the quarter as Utica entered halftime with a 5-4 edge. Alfred shut down the Pioneer offense in the second half, allowing zero goals on 11 shots (five on goal).
Where We Stand: After Wednesday's matchups, playoff scenarios will be decided. Utica is seventh overall in conference play and can finish as high as the three seed or as low as the seventh seed. Playoffs began with the first round on April 29, semifinal on May 1 and championship on May 3. All games at the higher seed.

Career Numbers: Andrew Sacco (New Haven, CT/North Haven) and Considine are each approaching massive milestones in their careers. Considine currently has 93 career points, seven away from 100 and has at least one point in 27 out of 30 games played in his career. He is currently top 15 in program history with his 93 points and top 14 with 56 goals. Currently, he is fourth in the league with 49 points, averaging nearly four points per game. Sacco has 113 career groundballs, putting him top 20 in program history and 52 career caused turnovers, which is top 10 all-time.
Groundballs Win Games: Mecca and Sacco lead the Pioneers, each with over 40 groundballs this season. Mecca has 13 in four games and Sacco has nine in four games.
Gianpaul Cooper (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) had a career day against Russell Sage, posting five groundballs, five caused turnovers, one shot and one faceoff win.
About Hartwick: The Hawks enter Wednesday with a 7-5 overall record (5-2 Empire 8). Hartwick is on a four-game winning streak entering the game against Utica, most recently defeating Keuka 24-4. The Hawks have scored at least 10 goals in those four games. Colin August leads the team with 39 points off 35 goals and four helpers. He has seven goals and 11 shots on goal in the previous two contests against Poly and Keuka. Garrett Frost is Hartwick's second-leading scorer with 25 goals (10 man-up) and nine assists.
