UTICA, NY - The Utica University women's soccer team battled to a 0-0 draw with the St. John Fisher Cardinals on Wednesday afternoon.

Cora Kraft (Poughquag, NY/Arlington) was able to get in on three scoring chances, with only one of her opportunities falling on the Cardinal goalkeeper.
Adrianna Calabria (Cicero, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) also contributed with a scoring chance of her own, but it would be corralled by the Cardinal goalkeeper. Pioneer keeper
Hannah Pcola (Cassville, NY/Mount Markham) managed to make seven saves in the effort.
Both teams would open the contest vying for possession, with Fisher being the first team to rifle off a shot that would be saved by Pcola in the 18th minute. Fisher would remain in control of the ball for the majority of the opening frame, rifling off six more shots before the Pioneers could land one on goal of their own in the 40th minute.
Coming out of the halftime break, both teams would continue to vie for possession, and with just under 20 minutes remaining in the half, Calabria would break away for a scoring chance but her attempt would be corralled by the Fisher keeper. Kraft would rifle off two more shots in the waning minutes of the contest, but would be unable to find the back of the net, walking away with a scoreless draw.
Utica (4-3-2, 1-0-1 Empire 8) returns to action on Saturday, September 27 as the team travels to take on the Elmira College Soaring Eagles. Game time from Elmira, NY is set for 1pm.
