UTICA, NY - The Utica University gymnastics team fell to the visiting Cortland Red Dragons by a score of 191.400 to 188.200 at Valley Gymnastics on Friday evening.
Utica picked up the top vault score of the meet behind
Alisya Dorman (Killingworth, CT/Haddam Killingworth), who claimed first place with a 9.600.
Grace Marra (St. James, NY/Smithtown East) followed in a tie for third with a 9.475, while
Jenna DiPalo (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue) finished tied for fifth at 9.450.
Haley Miller (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) placed 10th with a 9.325, and
Olivia Rosen (Massapequa, NY/Plainedge) rounded out the Pioneers score with an 11th place 9.275
Utica's strongest bar performance came from
Camille Lindley (Herndon, VA/Bishop O'Connell), who tied for first overall with a 9.700.
Alyssa Langston (Pearland, TX/Pearland) followed with a tie for third at 9.600, while
Claire Rieder (Cincinnati, OH/Mount Notre Dame) placed eighth with a 9.050.
Grace Marra (St. James, NY/Smithtown East) finished 10th at 8.850 and
Alisya Dorman (Killingworth, CT/Haddam Killingworth) was 11th with an 8.475.
Beam featured multiple high finishes for Utica, led by
Alisya Dorman (Killingworth, CT/Haddam Killingworth), who took second place with a 9.775.
Grace Marra (St. James, NY/Smithtown East) followed closely in third with a 9.700, while
Haley Miller (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) tied for fourth at 9.625.
Alyssa Langston (Pearland, TX/Pearland) placed tied for sixth with a 9.600 and
Jenna DiPalo (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue) finished 10th at 9.475.
Utica earned one of its top finishes on floor as
Grace Marra (St. James, NY/Smithtown East) tied for first place with a 9.750.
Emily Plone (Hudson, OH/Hudson) placed fourth with a 9.600, while
Alisya Dorman (Killingworth, CT/Haddam Killingworth) finished tied for seventh at 9.425.
Christina Troche (Manalapan, NJ/Saint John Vianney) followed in 10th with a 9.400 and Addison Ferri rounded out the rotation with an 11th place 9.050.
Utica had the only two all-around competitors in the meet.
Grace Marra (St. James, NY/Smithtown East) claimed first place overall, finishing with a 37.775, while
Alisya Dorman (Killingworth, CT/Haddam Killingworth) followed in second with a 37.275.
The Pioneers return to action on Sunday, February 8 as the team hosts Ursinius College. Start time from the Clark Athletic Center is set for 1pm.
