Men’s Wrestling Claims Multiple Placements in Sixth-Place Finish

WILLIAMSPORT, PA - Utica University's men's wrestling team competed Sunday at the Rennie Rodarmel Allstate Invitational, hosted by Lycoming College inside the Keiper Recreation Center. The Pioneers finished sixth in the nine-team field with 59.5 points, posting multiple podium appearances and several deep individual runs across the lineup. The team will now eye a road tri-meet next Saturday.

Utica's top finishes came at 149 and 174 pounds. Sean Aldrich (Syracuse, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) advanced to the championship bout at 149 after opening with a 6-1 win that ended by fall at 1:38 against Muhlenberg's Jay Lenio, followed by a 2-5 decision that was secured by fall at 1:57 over Misericordia's Brady Quinn. Aldrich finished runner-up after falling in the title match to King's (PA) Shane Kibler. At 174, Seth Richardson (Fort Plain, NY/Fort Plain) also reached the finals, beginning his day with a 5-3 decision win over King's Alex Ballantyne before earning an 8-5 decision against Scranton's Jake Rudy in the semifinals. Richardson concluded the tournament with a second-place finish following a fall loss to Lycoming's Nolen Zeigler in the championship bout.

Several Pioneers contributed additional scoring efforts throughout the event. Spencer Davies (Peru, NY/Peru) placed fourth at 141 after advancing to the semifinals via forfeit and later competing in the third-place match. Vince Geritano earned a fifth-place finish at 285, highlighted by a 4-3 victory over Keystone's James Craig that he closed by fall at 2:41, along with a no contest win in the consolation semifinals. At 197, Nuallan King (Pen Argyl, PA/Pen Argyl Area High School) added a consolation win, recording an 8-1 score over Misericordia's Tristan Cuellar in a bout that ended by fall at 4:45, before finishing sixth.

Additional victories came from Lukas Charles (Nyack, NY/Nyack), who advanced through the consolation bracket with a forfeit win before bowing out in the semifinals at heavyweight, and Marco Milankovic (Deer Park, NY/Deer Park), who picked up a first-period fall at 0:47 against Keystone's Tanner Pringle at 133 pounds.

The Pioneers return to action next Saturday, February 7th, in a tri meet hosted by Lackawanna College. Action is set to begin at 12:00 pm in Lackawanna's Student Union.
