BROCKPORT, NY - The Utica University gymnastics team fell in a dual meet to the SUNY Brockport Golden Eagles by a score of 191.25-185.425 on Sunday afternoon.
Utica opened on vault and totaled a 47.275 as a team. Alisya Dorman (Killingworth, CT/Haddam Killingworth) led the way with a 9.650, followed by Jenna DiPalo (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue) with a 9.500 and Madison Villani (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue) with a 9.400. Grace Marra (St. James, NY/Smithtown East) and Haley Miller (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) each added a 9.375 and a 9.350, respectively to round out the rotation.
On bars, the Pioneers combined for a 44.500. Camille Lindley (Herndon, VA/Bishop O'Connell) paced the lineup with a 9.350, while Christina Troche (Manalapan, NJ/Saint John Vianney) added a 9.025 and Marra contributed a 9.000.
Utica rebounded on beam with a 46.350 team total. Dorman turned in the top Pioneer score of the rotation with a 9.550. Miller followed closely at 9.350, while Marra posted a 9.200 and DiPalo added a 9.150. Olivia Fragala (Cave Creek, AZ/ASU Digital Prep) rounded out the rotation with a 9.100.
The Pioneers closed the meet on floor with a 47.300. Marra delivered the team's highest mark of the night in the event with a 9.750. Emily Plone (Hudson, OH/Hudson) recorded a 9.550, Troche added a 9.350, Dorman finished with a 9.525, and Addison Ferri rounded out the scorecard with a 9.125 to cap the evening for Utica.
Utica returns to action on Sunday, March 1 as the team hosts Springfield, Rhode Island, and Ithaca in a quad meet. Start time is set for 1pm from Valley Gymnastics.
