Last Time Out: The team fell to the visiting Cortland Red Dragons by a score of 191.400 to 188.200 at Valley Gymnastics back on January 23. Utica picked up the top vault score of the meet behind Alisya Dorman (Killingworth, CT/Haddam Killingworth), who claimed first place with a 9.600. Utica's strongest bar performance came from Camille Lindley (Herndon, VA/Bishop O'Connell), who tied for first overall with a 9.700. Beam featured multiple high finishes for Utica, led by Dorman, who took second place with a 9.775. Utica earned one of its top finishes on floor as Grace Marra (St. James, NY/Smithtown East) tied for first place with a 9.750. Utica had the only two all-around competitors in the meet. Marra claimed first place overall, finishing with a 37.775, while Dorman followed in second with a 37.275.

Beaming with Consistency: Beam was Utica's strongest and most complete event in the most recent meet, combining high-end scoring with lineup-wide consistency. The Pioneers produced multiple routines at or above the 9.600 mark, highlighted by top scores of 9.775 from Alisya Dorman (Killingworth, CT/Haddam Killingworth) and 9.700 from Grace Marra (St. James, NY/Smithtown East), while maintaining stability throughout the rotation. That concentration of scores at the top of the lineup resulted in one of Utica's highest event totals of the season, and the team's highest beam score in program history with a 48.175. Beam's success also aligns with broader season-long trends. Combined event totals on beam have increased from the opening meet, and multiple gymnasts are contributing meaningful scoring value rather than relying on a single routine. That depth has allowed Utica to build strong team totals even if one routine is slightly off, reinforcing the beam as a dependable event.

A Look at Ursinus: Ursinus enters the meet as a balanced mid-to-high-180s team that shows its greatest scoring strength on vault and floor. In its most recent dual against Brockport, the Bears posted a 187.175 team total, highlighted by a strong opening rotation on vault and their highest team score coming on floor. Vault has been a reliable momentum-builder for Ursinus, with multiple routines capable of scoring in the mid-9 range, while floor provides their highest ceiling late in the meet. Beam has been steady and hit-oriented, producing consistent mid-9 scores without extreme volatility, while bars remains the Bears' lowest-scoring event and the area where separation has occurred against comparable opponents. Overall, Ursinus competes with depth across the lineup rather than relying on a single routine, making vault and floor their primary scoring drivers entering the matchup.

Up Next: The team travels to take on the Empire State Collegiate Championship, hosted by Cortland. Start time on Saturday, February 14 from Cortland, NY is set for 2pm.
