ROCHESTER, NY - For the third time this season, Matt Paolucci has garnered weekly Empire 8 recognition. Thanks to his titanic offensive effort, he was named this week's Empire 8 Rookie of the Week - his third Empire 8 honor of the season, and his second such rookie honor.

Paolucci continued his raucous rookie season this past week, putting up insane numbers over the Pioneers' four-game stretch. The Pioneer slugger supplied massive power during a week when the team went 3-1, as he racked up six hits, eight RBIs, and eight runs scored, while posting an average of .545, an on-base percentage of .625, and a slugging percentage of 1.091. Paolucci also gathered three doubles and a big home run. To cap it all off, the rookie phenom also showcased stellar small-ball, drawing two walks and stealing a base. 

Paolucci and the baseball team will be back in action this Wednesday when they head to Russell Sage for a standalone matchup against the Gators. That contest begins at 3:00 PM. The Pioneers will also head to Alfred University this weekend for a three-game set against the Saxons up at the new Saxon Hill Athletic Complex.
