Utica, NY (4/30/12)- Junior Mallory Ingalls of the Utica College softball team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week, Monday.
Ingalls, a native of Oriskany, NY, had a .688 batting average as UC went 3-3 last week. She totaled 11 hits, eight runs scored, and four RBI in six games. Her most impressive performance was in a 7-6 win when she went 4-for-4 with one RBI and three runs scored.
Ingalls has started all 39 games for UC this season. She finished ranked second on the team with a .372 batting average, 33 runs scored, 48 hits, 25 RBI, and four home runs. She was also third in slugging percentage (.535) and total bases (69).
The Pioneers wrapped up the season with a 22-17 overall record and a 4-8 mark in the Empire 8. It was their second consecutive year with a record over .500 and the best season since 2006.
