Utica University Athletics

Utica, N.Y (11/22/10) – Senior forward #Jessica Berry# (Rome Free Academy/Rome, N.Y.) of the Utica College women’s basketball team has been named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Nov. 21, 2010. 

Berry averaged 20 points, 11 rebounds and 3.7 steals per game as the Pioneers’ opened the season with a 2-1 record.  She also shot 66.7% (26-of-39) from the floor and averaged 34.3 minutes per game. 

Berry scored 35 points and snagged 19 rebounds over the course of two games, en route to earning All-Tournament Team honors, as Utica went 1-1 at the 15th annual Keene State College Tip-Off Tournament in Keene, N.H. Friday and Saturday.   

She added 25 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as the Pioneers’ defeated host Potsdam 66-48 in their season-opener on Monday night. 

Utica returns to the hardwood at Cazenovia College on Sunday.  Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
