Utica University Athletics

Sophomore Ryan Stalker of the Utica College golf team was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week after carding a career-low 78 as the Pioneers hosted the Utica College Fall Invitational at The Skenadoa Club in Clinton, NY on Sunday. 

Stalker posted four pars, a birdie and four bogeys on the front nine to card a three-over 39 through nine holes.  He caught fire on the final four holes of the front nine posting three pars and one birdie.  He carded six pars on the back nine to go along with three bogeys to wrap up the back with a 39, good for a total of 78. 

Overall he recorded ten pars and a birdie.  He went one-under during a stretch of seven holes midway through his round.  His score of 78 was tied for 14^th at the eight team invitational. 

The Pioneers return to action on Saturday when they travel to St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY to participate in the St. Lawrence Invite.  The two-day meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
