Junior defender Angela Charles, of the Utica College field hockey team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week on Monday.

Charles totaled five points on two goals and an assist as UC finished the week with a 1-1 record. On Wednesday, she had an assist in UC’s 4-0 rout of visiting Ithaca College. Charles was also part of a defensive unit that did not allow a single Ithaca shot until 58:26 into the contest.

On Saturday, Charles had two goals as the Pioneers dropped a 4-3 overtime decision to Stevens Institute of Technology.

Utica will return to the field Wednesday as it visits RPI for a 7 p.m. matchup. The Pioneers do not return home until October 26th, when they face E8 foe Washington and Jefferson.
