UTICA, NY- Freshman Ryan Desveaux of the Utica College men’s lacrosse team was named the Empire 8 Conference Offensive Player of the Week and the College’s Male Athlete of the Week after his stellar performance over the course of two games as he opened his collegiate career last week.
So far this season Desveaux has scored seven of the team’s 17 goals, including his first collegiate goal in the season opener against St. Lawrence University last Wednesday. In the Pioneer’s latest game against host SUNY Polytechnic on Saturday, Desveaux found the back of the net five times, picked up two ground balls and caused one turnover. He currently leads the team in goals, points and shots on goal.
The Pioneers (1-1) are back on the field Wednesday, March 11th as they host Hamilton College at 5 p.m. in the fifth annual ‘Contineer Cup’ rivalry game.
