UTICA, NY- Utica sophomore midfielder Bita Gazashvili was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for his performance in three games last week.
 
Gazashvili netted two goals and added one assist as the Pioneers earned wins over SUNY Poly and Wells College last week.

Gazashvili tied his career-high with two goals in a span of 4:21, including his second goal of the day with six seconds left on the first half clock against Wells College Sunday. He also had an assist on Wednesday in a 2-1 win against SUNY Poly.

Gazashvili is currently tied for first in the Empire 8 and leads the Pioneers with three assists. He is also tied for the team lead with two goals. Gazashvili now needs four assists to tie his career high.
 
The Pioneers have now won two of their last three games and moved their record to 2-4 overall on the year headed into a three game road trip that begins with Cazenovia College on Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
