UTICA, NY – Sophomore Anthony McVeigh of the Utica College men’s hockey team was named the College’s Male Athlete of the week on Monday.

McVeigh had two points in Saturday’s ECAC West Conference Tournament semifinal game at Manhattanville. He netted the game-winner 3:02 into the overtime period to help the Pioneers earn a 4-3 victory. He also scored the game-tying goal in the third period to force overtime.

McVeigh currently leads the team with 19 points on seven goals and 12 assists this season. He has five points (three goals, two assists) in his last three games.

The Pioneers (14-9-4, 6-6-3 ECAC West) hit the road on Saturday to face off against Hobart College in the ECAC West Championship game, which is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
