UTICA, NY- Senior attacker Nick Yelich of the Utica College men’s lacrosse team was named the male athlete of the week for his impressive four point performance in the last two games played.

On Wednesday, he scored two goals and added one assist in the 17-6 win over Alfred State. He scored UC’s only goal of the game against No. 13 Stevens on Saturday.

Yelich is currently tied with Ryan Desveaux for the team lead with 27 points this season. Yelich has scored 16 goals and added 11 assists in ten games played. In his four year career at UC, he currently has 80 points with 42 goals and 38 assists in 47 games played.

The Pioneers are currently 5-5 and are tied with both Alfred and Hartwick for second place (2-1) in the Empire 8 Conference.

UC hosts SUNY Poly in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
