Utica, NY – Kyle Swiecki of the Utica College men’s track and field team has been chosen as one of the UC Co-Male Athletes of the Week for his performance in the heptathlon during the weekend’s meet.

At the Blue and Orange Invitational & Multi, Swiecki earned first place in the heptathlon by once again improving upon his own school-record. He sets the new program-best mark at 4,664 points in the event. His performance put him at number 12 on the NCAA indoor qualifying list.

Kyle placed inside the top three in all seven events of the competition. He even took first in both the long jump and 60-meter hurdles at the meet.

He was also named the Empire 8 Men’s Field Athlete of the Week by the conference office on Monday.

UC will hit the road Friday for day one of the David Hemery Invite up at Boston University. Competition is set to begin at 10:30 a.m.
