Utica, NY - Junior Sabrina Whitehouse of the Utica College field hockey team has been named UC Female athlete of the week for her stellar performances as of late.

The 2018 Second-Team All-Conference selection has posted a total of 10 points on three goals and four assists over the last two weeks en route to receiving back-to-back Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Week honors.

It all started with a big one-goal, three-assist performance in a 4-0 win over Sage on Saturday, October 5, and she kept things rolling with two goals in a 3-2 overtime victory over Nazareth last Saturday. The Greenwich alum also added one assist on the road against RPI last Tuesday.

Whitehouse currently leads the team with 17 points on five goals and seven assists this season. This marks the first time that Whitehouse is the team points leader, as junior Sydney Scaccia held the top spot all season up until the Nazareth match on Saturday night. Whitehouse is the sole Pioneer to record a point in eight of the team’s 12 games.

The Utica College field hockey team will look to post its fourth straight win this Wednesday as it hosts SUNY Geneseo in a non-conference matchup.
