Utica University Athletics

Utica, NY (5-10-11) – Freshman #Samantha Prendergast#,
of the Utica College women’s track and field team, was
awarded the college’s female Athlete of the Week for her
efforts this past weekend at the NYSCTC Outdoor
Championships in Troy, NY. 

Prendergast finished fourth in the 400 meter dash with
a final time of 1:00.41, missing the ECAC qualifying mark
by.4.  The middle distance runner has tallied five top ten
finishes in her freshman campaign.  The local native
competes in the 400 meter, 800 meter, and the one-mile
run.  She helped the lady Pioneers to an eighth place finish
and 22 total points.

The Pioneers return to action Saturday as they travel to
Canton, NY for the Last Chance Qualifier hosted by St.
Lawrence University.  The meet is scheduled to begin at
10 a.m.
