Update: Utica College senior Anthony Venturino (DeSales/Geneva), who was recently named to Don Hansen's Football Gazette NCAA Division III All-East Region Football Team and the Empire 8 All-Conference Defensive First Team, has been selected as an ECAC Division III Northwest First Team Defensive All-Star.

Venturino concluded his senior season with a team-high 123 tackles (73 solo) and four interceptions. The 5-foot-10, 200-pound defensive back also managed four tackles for a loss of yards, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery, which he returned 34 yards for a touchdown.

The three-year captain leaves the Pioneer football program as the all-time tackle leader with 455 career hits (239 solo). Venturino, who spent much of his collegiate career as a linebacker, also stands second on the all-time leader board for interceptions.

The Pioneer football team of 2004 recorded its first-ever winning streak, which victimized nationally ranked RPI and Husson College, en route to posting a program-best 3-7 record.
