UTICA, NY – The nationally-ranked No. 9 Utica College women's hockey team defeated visiting Chatham College 6-0 Sunday afternoon at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.
The Pioneers, who defeated Chatham 13-0 Saturday night, out shot the Cougars 73-5.
Stephanie Price (River Rouge, MI/) tallied the games first goal just 3:06 into the contest.
Katie Moss (Rochester, NY/) and
Samantha Rowan (Trenton, MI/) assisted on the game-winner. Amanda Finkle scored her fourth goal of the season just over a minute later off an assist from freshman
Andrea Maxon (Canton, NY/Hugh C. Williams) and sophomore
Jessica Leclerc (Augusta, ME/). Leclerc would later score her first goal of the season on an assist from Rowan.
Courtney Bank (Saginaw, MI/) also scored in the first period and the Pioneers led 4-0 going into the first intermission.
Deanna Wiegand (Utica, MI/) and Finkle tallied the assist on Bank's goal.
Kelly Bills (Penfield, NY/) lit the lamp in the second period, while sister
Courtney Bills (Penfield, NY/) scored the game's final goal.
Laura Schnitker (Laramie, WY/) and Rowan assisted on the second period goal.
Jill Doherty (Wellesley, MA/Kents Hill) made five saves in her first collegiate victory, while Sam Hunt stopped 67 shots in net for the Cougars.
