Women's Hockey Takes on Cross-Town Rival Hamilton College

UTICA, NY (11/28/11)- The Utica College women's ice hockey team returns to action for its second game in three days, Tuesday as it hosts cross-town rival Hamilton College at 7 p.m. 

WHERE WE SIT: UC is currently 3-6 overall and 1-5 in the ECAC West Conference… UC suffered its first non-conference loss of the season, 3-1, at Williams, Sunday… The Pioneers are 2-1 in non-conference games this season.

AGAINST HAMILTON:  Utica is 3-3-2 against the Continentals dating back to the 2005-06 season.  Last year, the Pioneers fell 2-1 in overtime. 

SCORING LEADERS:  Sophomores Megan Myers (Las Vegas, NV/LA Selects) and Brittany DelleChiaie (Leominster, MA/The Winchendon School) have combined for 17 points…  Myers has three goals and eight assists while DelleChiaie has four goals and two assists…  13 different Pioneers have registered at least one point, while six players have three total points each. 

DUO IN NET: Senior Marissa Hotaling (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) and sophomore Jennifer Hamel (Ithaca, NY/Northwood School) have been splitting time in net… Hotaling has an overall record of 1-3 while posting a .919 save percentage and a goals-against average of 3.46… Hamel currently holds a 2-3 record while boasting an impressive .932 save percentage and a 2.61 goals-against average. 

ECAC STANDINGS: Nationally-ranked No. 1 RIT is currently in first with 12 points, while Plattsburgh holds second place with nine, and Elmira sits in third place with eight points … Buffalo State occupies fourth place while Oswego, Potsdam and Neumann follow behind in fifth, sixth and seventh, each one point short of the other … Utica has two points in the eighth spot while Cortland is in ninth with one point and Chatham in tenth.

SCOUTING HAMILTON:  The Continentals are currently 0-2 after losing conference games to nationally ranked No. 7 Amherst College. 

BACK TO THE CONFERENCE: UC returns to conference action Saturday Dec. 3 for a match-up against Cortland … The puck is scheduled to drop at 7 p.m. in Cortland, NY.
