UC hits the road for three straight starting next Saturday Nov. 3rd

Utica, NY (10-27-12) – The Utica College men and women swim and dive lost their season-opener to Hartwick College Saturday at the Utica College Pool of Champions. The men lost 208-61 while the women fell 211-70 in their first meet of the 2012-2013 season.
The teams hit the road for three consecutive matches beginning next Saturday, Nov. 3 in Geneva, NY. UC will compete against William Smith and Cazenovia in a three way meet set for 1 p.m. Hartwick (3-0 men/women) will travel to Nazareth College Saturday Nov. 3 for a match against the Golden Flyers at Moyer Pool.
Freshman Raphael Warnon led the way for the men with a third place finish in the 100 yard backstroke clocking a final time of 57.77. Warnon also placed fourth in the 200 yard backstroke with a time 2:07.88.
For the women, senior
Michelle Allen (Canton, MA/Canton) headed the way with seven individual points. Allen took second place in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 27.37 recording four points and third in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:08.99 collecting three points.
Sophomore
Amy Dumary (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa) placed third in the 100 yard butterfly and gathered three points with time of 1:07.06. Cecilia Gulius also placed third in her event with a time of 1:04.39 in the 100 yard freestyle.
In the diving events, freshman diver
Angeliqua Jones (Monroe, NY /Washingtonville ) grabbed three points for the UC women in the one meter diving event with a score 148.05 while Tyler Hickey took second with a score 121.85 and four total points.
