WEBSTER, NY - The Utica University swim and dive teams completed Day 4 of the Empire 8 Championships on Saturday night. The women placed fourth with 280 points and the men finished fourth with 149.50 points.
 
Sara Kuiken (Valley Falls, NY/Tamarac) finished sixth in heat two of the women's 200 yard backstroke clocking in at 2:28.02. Aimee Oswald (Reading, PA/Exeter Township) participated in the same heat and finished ninth with a time of 2:40.05. Phillip Ross finished eighth in the men's 200 yard backstroke clocking in at 2:25.08.
 
Bailey Simmons (Vernon Center, NY/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) placed seventh in the women's 100 freestyle coming in at 55.77 in the first heat. Paige Levine (Holtsville, NY/Sachem East) placed sixth in heat two finishing in58.46. Jackson Sorbello placed fourth in heat two of the men's 100 yard freestyle clocking in at 49.39. Ronald Batario participated in the same heat and placed ninth with a time of 52.49.
 
Utica had a trio of participants in the heat two of the women's 200 yard backstroke. Kira Seaman (Fort Edward, NY/Hudson Falls) placed fifth with a time of 2:48.98 and was followed by Ainsley Vyse (Glastobury, CT/Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy) in seventh (2:54.57) and Kim Serio (Lakeville, NY/Livonia) in eighth with a time of 2:55.41.
 
Nick Massa came in tenth in heat two of the men's 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:28.56.
 
Kira Seaman (Fort Edward, NY/Hudson Falls), Aimee Oswald (Reading, PA/Exeter Township), Ainsley Vyse (Glastobury, CT/Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy), and Kim Serio (Lakeville, NY/Livonia) came in eighth in heat one of the women's 400 yard freestyle relay with a time of 4:23.14. Nick Massa, Phillip Ross, Ronald Batario, and Jackson Sorbello came in eighth in the men's 400 yard freestyle with a time of 3:31.97.
 
Today marks the end of a successful 2022-2023 season for the Pioneers.
