WEBSTER, NY - The Utica University swim and dive program wrapped up day one of the Empire 8 Championships on Wednesday evening. The women ended the day in third place with 91 points and then men sit in fourth with 62 points.
Sara Kuiken (Valley Falls, NY/Tamarac),
Kira Seaman (Fort Edward, NY/Hudson Falls),
Paige Levine (Holtsville, NY/Sachem East), and
Bailey Simmons (Vernon Center, NY/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) placed seventh in the women's 200 yard medley relay clocking in at 2:01.51 in the prelims and then placing eighth in the finals with a time of 2:10.67.
Phillip Ross, Nick Massa, Jackson Sorbello, and Ronald Batario placed eighth in the prelims clocking in at 1:48.95.
Annabelle Workman (Carthage, NY/Carthage) came in fourth place in one meter diving with a final score of 267.00.

Bailey Simmons (Vernon Center, NY/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) came in seventh in the women's 800 yard freestyle relay clocking in at 8:47.43.
Jackson Sorbello, Nick Massa, Phillip Ross, and Ronald Batario came in eighth in the men's 800 yard freestyle relay coming in at 8:10.68.
The teams are back in action for day two of the Championships beginning at 10 a.m. with prelims.
