UC scored three first period goals in a span of 3:18 to take a commanding 3-0 lead early in the contest. Myers scored her first of the evening and 10th of the season on a power-play opportunity at the 7:42 marker of the first period. The Pioneers outshot the home team 17-1 in the second stanza, but neither team could find the back of the net and Utica clung to its 3-0 lead headed into the third and final period.

Just 2:16 into the third period sophomore Vanessa Maines (Boxborough, MA/Boston Jr. Shamrocks) netted her third tally of the season to seal the victory for the Pioneers.  Mary Fusco (Enfield, CT/Salve Regina University) notched an assist on the game's final goal.

Senior goalie Marissa Hotaling (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) stopped all 13 of the shots she faced en route to her second victory and first shut out of the season.
