Utica, NY (10/12/13)- The Utica College women's soccer team fell to visiting Houghton College, 5-0 Saturday afternoon at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium.  Jamie Enders (Cazenovia, NY/Cazenovia) and Kelly Heimerle (North Babylon, NY/North Babylon) combined for 13 saves for the Pioneers.

Houghton took the lead at 14:41 as Atalie Fite netted her sixth goal of the season, assisted by Erin Miller.  Just over ten minutes later, Sarah Gabriele was able to fool Enders for her third of the year, unassisted.

The Highlanders used three second half goals by Stephany Ellison, Darlene Eckhardt, and Bailey Shattell to bury the Pioneers.

Maddisen Melley (Wappingers Falls, NY/Roy C. Ketcham) and Deanna Didio (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) recorded shots for Utica.  Houghton improves to 9-2, while Utica drops to 2-8-2 on the season.  The Pioneers return to action Sunday as they travel to Alfred University for an Empire 8 match up against the Saxons.  Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
