Box Score Cortland, NY (11/16/13)- Freshman Gabrielle Schnepp (Northville, MI/Belle Tire) scored two goals and added two assists to help guide the Utica College women's hockey team to a 6-0 ECAC West Conference victory over host SUNY Cortland Saturday afternoon. 

Three different players had multiple point games including Schnepp, Kristen Beckman (Arnold, MD/Northwood School), and Vanessa Maines (Boxborough, MA/Boston Jr. Shamrocks).  Schnepp gave the Pioneers a 1-0 lead as she netted her second of the year, assisted by senior Megan Myers (Las Vegas, NV/LA Selects) at 5:48 in the first period.  Beckman padded the Utica lead at 12:14 with her first goal of the year, assisted by Maines and Schnepp.

The line of Schnepp, Maines, and Kelsey Dowdall (Smiths Falls, ONT/Nepean) led the way in the second period, as the trio connected for both Utica goals in the period. Utica continued its momentum into the third period as Nicole Schwartz (Danville, CA/San Jose Sharks) netted her second of the year off assists from sophomores Janessa Haasbeek (Grand Forks, ND/Canadian International Hockey Academy) and Morgan Reed (Fort Myers, FL/Cushing Academy).  Freshman Victoria Pelton (Sterling Heights, MI/Belle Tire) capped off the scoring with her first collegiate goal at 6:32 off an assist from Kristen Beckman (Arnold, MD/Northwood School). 

The Pioneers out shot the Red Dragons 53-14 on the day.  Senior Jennifer Hamel (Ithaca, NY/Northwood School) stopped all 14 shots she faced for her first shutout of the season.

The Pioneers move to 2-2 on the year.  Up next, UC will host Williams College in non-conference action Friday at 7 p.m.
