Rochester, NY (1-25-14) – The Utica College men and women swim and dive teams lost to Empire 8 rival Nazareth College Saturday afternoon. The men were downed 162-81 while the women fell 181-56. The men are now 4-6 overall and 0-3 in Empire 8 action while the women move to 2-9 on the season as well as 0-3 in conference action.

Mikey Maxwell (Newport, NY/West Canada) registered two wins in the 200 medley (2:50.07) and the 100-yard fly (1:17.57) to pace the women.
Senior Collin Hart posted two victories to lead the UC men. Hart won the 1-meter dive with a score of 103.30 and the 100-open fly with a clock of 1:08.77. Senior Joshua Mannarino took first in the 200-yard medley while sophomore Raphael Warnon tallied two second place finishes in the 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard free with times of 2:23.08 and 2:14.19.
The Pioneers remain on the road next Saturday as they conclude the regular season against St. Lawrence University. The contest will be held at the Augsbury Pool in the Augsbury Physical Education Center (Canton, NY) and is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. The St. Lawrence women are currently 5-1 whereas the men are presently winless at 0-6 on the season. The Saints will visit Hartwick College on Saturday, Jan. 25th before playing host to UC the following week.
