Utica, NY (October 20, 2014) – The Utica College men and women swim and dive teams open up its 2014-2015 campaign this Saturday in Oneonta, NY at the Hartwick College Quad Meet hosted by Hartwick College.
Season-Opener DetailsThe Hartwick College Quad Meet will feature host Hartwick, Cazenovia College, the College of Saint Rose and Utica College. The Pioneers will square off against all three opponents throughout the day. The diving events are scheduled to start at 9 a.m. while the swimming to follow at 1p.m. at the Moyer Pool.

A Glance at the 2014-2015 Schedule Utica currently has ten regular season matches and the UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Championships on the schedule. Four contests at the friendly confines of the Utica College Pool and six away from home. Following this weekend's season-opener, UC remains on the road for two more contests. The Pioneers head to Geneva, NY on Saturday Nov. 1 to face Hobart and William Smith College before traveling to Aurora, NY on Nov. 8 to challenge Wells College. Both contests are set for 1 p.m. Last season, both squads downed Wells convincingly while the women lost to William Smith.
The Pioneers will then host their home-opener on Friday Nov. 11 at the UC Pool versus Cazenovia College for a 6 p.m. evening start. The Pioneer men swept the series last season against the Wildcats with three victories while the women went 1-2.
Next, UC then gets back on the bus for another two-match road trip to wrap up 2014. Utica journeys to Potsdam, NY to face Skidmore on Saturday Nov. 22 before heading to Cazenovia on Saturday Dec. 6 to conclude the first half of the season.
After winter break, the Pioneers will have four regular season matches remaining before the UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Championships. Utica will welcome Alfred University on Saturday Jan. 10, 2015 followed by a three-way match with Nazareth and Cobleskill and then will greet St. Lawrence University in their last regular season contest at home on Saturday Jan. 31.
UC ties up the regular season campaign on the road against Clarkson on Saturday Feb. 7 for a 1 p.m. scheduled start.
The 2015 UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Conference Championships are set for Wednesday Feb. 18 through Saturday Feb. 21 in Webster, NY at the Webster Aquatic Center and will be hosted by Nazareth College.
The Pioneer RosterThe UC men currently have 10 on its rosters including six returners and four newcomers. Seniors Anthony Farber and Omar Renta along with junior Raphael Warnon make up the upper class while sophomores Sam Bensin, Chris Deyette and Tyler Good come back for their second year campaigns. The Pioneers welcome freshmen Daniel Barcenas, Jordan Cannan, Aaron Gudrian and Leo Silverstein to the roster.
