Utica, NY (November 11, 2014) – The Utica College men and women swim and dive teams are set for its home-opener this Friday evening against Cazenovia College. The contest is schedueld to begin at 5 p.m.
Competition Details: The contest will take place at the Utica College Pool located in the Clark Athletic Center. The facility features a 10-lane, 25-yard by 6-lane, 25-meter pool, 1-meter diving board, and balcony seating for 185.

Last Time Out – Pioneers Splash the Express on the RoadUC Men Grab Two Road Wins: The men posted two convincing wins over the weekend in Aurora, NY to move to 3-2 on the season. UC downed host Wells by 130 points, 174-44, and also beat Alfred State University 58 points, 149-91. Junior
Raphael Warnon racked up three victories for the men as he took first in the 100 and 200 backstrokes with times of 57.79 and 2:00.38. Warnon also waved a three second win in the 100 yard butterfly clocking an impressive 57.71. Classmate
Anthony Farber had a solid day as he splashed two victories and a second place tally. Farber grabbed the medal in both the 100 yard breaststroke and freestyle before placing second in the 200 yard breast. Freshman

Jordan Cannan inked their first victories as Pioneers as Gudrian edged out a four second win in the 200 yard butterfly and Cannan clocking a 25.29 in the 50 free.
Pioneer Women Handle Host Wells: The women tallied their second season win as they improved to 2-3 overall. Utica defeated the Wells Express by 55 points, 147-92. Freshman phoenom
Phoebe King (New Bedford, MA/GNB Voc Tech) put forth another impressive outing racking up three first place finishes to lead the women. King was victorious in the 100 yard backstroke, freestyle, and medley winning all races by a minimum of four seconds. Freshman
Alyson Baribault (Plantsville, CT/Southington) scooped up two wins and all the points in the women's 100 and 200 yard breaststroke events and also placing second in the 200 medley, missing another medal by just three seconds.
