Utica, NY (11/28/14)- The Utica College women's hockey team looks to get back on track Saturday as it travels to Williamstown, MA for a non-conference match up against Williams College.  Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
 
LAST TIME OUT: Utica dropped a pair of ECAC West Conference games to rival, Elmira College last weekend… UC fell at Elmira, 4-1 on Saturday, before fighting to a 7-5 decision against the nationally ranked No. 2 Soaring Eagles on Sunday… Five different players scored for Utica in Sunday's loss… Junior Morgan Reed (Fort Myers, FL/Cushing Academy) led UC with one goal and two assists, while seniors Louise Steele-Norton (Avondale, PA/Millbrook School) and Nicole Schwartz (Danville, CA/San Jose Sharks) each had a goal and an assist. 
 
LEADING THE WAY: Three players have netted five points so far for Utica, including senior Nicole Schwartz (Danville, CA/San Jose Sharks), and juniors Morgan Reed (Fort Myers, FL/Cushing Academy) and Mackenzie Roy (Clinton, NY/Clinton)… Roy and Reed each have three goals and two assists, while Schwartz is tied for the team-lead with three assists.
 
INSTANT IMPACT: Seniors Louise Steele-Norton (Avondale, PA/Millbrook School) and Nikki Kieffer (Rome, NY/Lysander Lightning), who also play on the Empire 8 Champion Utica College field hockey team, have made an immediate impact since rejoining the women's hockey squad… Steele-Norton totaled three points in her first weekend back… She scored Utica's lone goal in the Pioneers' 4-1 loss to No. 2 Elmira on Saturday… On Sunday, she tallied one goal and one assist as UC fell 7-5 to the Soaring Eagles… Kieffer stepped back into her role as captain, while providing veteran experience on the blue line… She also found her name on the score sheet as she netted a goal in the Pioneers' loss on Sunday.
 
FRESHMEN FITTING IN: Three freshmen have already aided the Pioneer offense in the young season… Jennifer Arts (Lakeside, Ontario/London Devilettes) netted her first career goal in Utica's 6-3 win over William Smith… Classmate Samantha Husak (Jackson, MI/Team Detroit) added two assists over the two games, and Taylor Osowski (Highlands Ranch, CO/Colorado Selects) also tallied a helper on the weekend.
 
SCOUTING WILLIAMS: The Ephs are 1-1 on the season after splitting their season opener against Wesleyan in NESCAC action… Candace Lu leads the team with two assists, while Gwendolyn Schultz and Emily Krueger have one goal each… Utica is 6-1 against Williams in the last five years… Last year, the Pioneers topped Williams 4-2 at Utica, behind goals from Kelsey Dowdall (Smiths Falls, ONT/Nepean), Emily Coope (Phoenix, AZ/Colorado Tigers), and Nicole Schwartz (Danville, CA/San Jose Sharks). 
 
LOOKING AHEAD: Utica will travel to local rival, Hamilton College, on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. faceoff… UC will return to conference play next weekend with a home-and-home series against SUNY Cortland.
