Box Score Clinton, NY (12/2/14)- The Utica College women's hockey team battled to a 2-2 tie Tuesday evening as it took on local rival, Hamilton College in non-conference action.

Utica is now 3-2-2 against the Continentals in the last five years. The Pioneers move to 3-2-1 on the year. They return to action this weekend as they take on SUNY Cortland in a home-and-home series. Utica   will travel to Cortland on Saturday for a 2 p.m. face off, before both teams return to Utica on Sunday for a 3 p.m. tilt.

Hamilton took a 1-0 lead at 17:14 as Katie Parkman converted a power play tally assisted by Jade Alvillar and Caroline Knop. The score would stand until senior
Louise Steele-Norton (Avondale, PA/Millbrook School) netted her third of the season with just under two minutes remaining in the second to send the teams into the final intermission knotted at one.Â

The Continentals regained the lead at 1:29 as Hannah Bartlett scored an unassisted tally for her second of the year. Once again, Steele-Norton evened the score as she put in a feed from
Kelsey Dowdall (Smiths Falls, ONT/Nepean) and
Samantha Husak (Jackson, MI/Team Detroit). Steele-Norton now has four goals in as many games.Â
Morgan Reed (Fort Myers, FL/Cushing Academy) and
Nikki Kieffer (Rome, NY/Lysander Lightning) also tallied assists on the day. The Pioneers were able to kill a two minute penalty in overtime to hold on for the tie.Â

Keira Goin (Dobbs Ferry, NY/Hotchkiss School) made 27 saves, while her counterpart, Sam Walther had 28 saves in net for Hamilton. The Pioneers went 0-for-4 on the power play, while the Continentals converted 2-of-7 opportunities with the man advantage.Â
