Canton, NY (December 5, 2014) – The Utica College men and women swim and dive teams downed Cazenovia College Saturday in its final competition of 2014.
The men won 116-68 and improve to 5-3 while the women posted a 116-104 victory to move back to .500 with a 4-4 overall mark. The Pioneers return to action Jan. 10, 2015, following winter break, as they welcome Alfred University to the UC Pool.
The UC men were led by Raphael Warnon who totaled 18 points with two victories in the 200 yard backstroke and the 200 individual medley. Tyler Good also won two races grabbing 18 points as he touched the wall first in the 200 and 500 yard freestyle events. Chris Deyette and Jordan Cannan combined for two wins and 18 team points as Cannan won the 100 yard free with a clock of 54.71 and Deyette recording a watch of 2:28.91 in the 200 breaststroke.
On the women's side,
Phoebe King (New Bedford, MA/GNB Voc Tech) collected two wins and 18 points in the 200 free and 200 backstroke.
Grace Gallentine (Clifton Springs, NY/Midlakes) won the 50 and 500 yard free events while
Mikey Maxwell (Newport, NY/West Canada) won the 100 yard free, the women's one-meter dive and placed second in the 50 free.
