2014 D3 Senior Classic Super Senior Watch List 

Utica, NY (August 30, 2014) - Utica College senior wide receiver Anthony Acevedo (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford) was named to the 2014 D3 Senior Classic Super Senior Watch List honorable mention on Friday. The honor marks the third time this offseason that Acevedo has garnered preseason recognition.
 
The Collegiate Development Football League has joined up with D3football.com to present the 2014 D3 Senior Classic Super Senior Watch List. The list, honoring the top seniors heading into the 2014 Division III football season, was selected by the 2014 D3 Senior Classic bowl committee and the Team America coaching staff.  It is based upon player nominations and evaluations made by college coaches, college sports information directors, regional scouts, and media.
 
The selected players are on the watch list for invitation to the 2014 D3 Senior Classic. The all-star game pits two teams of Division III seniors against each other, and will be played in December 2014, marking the game's sixth season.
 
In addition, these players will be evaluated for selection to the roster of Team America, which will represent the USA in scheduled international games in 2015. Team America is the only privately funded USA national team representing free agents and promoting American football on an international level.  The 2015 schedule includes contests in New York, Grand Cayman Island, and Myrtle Beach.
 
Acevedo, in his final campaign, looks to add to his already decorated resume after coming off a record breaking season last year.  Last season he earned Empire 8 Conference Offensive Co-Player of the Year honors along with D3football.com All-Region status. He is one of three players from the Empire 8 to be named to one of the three Pre-season All-American teams.
 
Acevedo finished the 2013 regular season ranked 10th nationally and first in the Empire 8 with an average of 8.0 receptions per game. He was also 17th in the country and first in the Empire 8 with an average of 106.1 receiving yards per game.  He finished the season with 72 catches, 955 yards and six touchdowns. Acevedo is now the College's all-time leader in career receiving yards with 2,484 and he is just ten receptions away from tying the school-record for receptions – he currently has 177 for his career.
 
The Pioneers kick off the season Saturday, September 9th on the road against Misericordia University in Dallas, PA.  UC's home-opener (third game of the season) is on September 20th at 12 p.m. against Frostburg State on the turf at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium.
