CAZENOVIA, NY – The Utica College men's swim and dive team picked up their third straight win after defeating Cazenovia 114-13 on Friday night. Several first place finishes guided the men as they improved to 4-2 on the year. The women's team fell to Cazenovia 128.5-105.5 and dropped to 2-5 on the year.
For the men's team Raphael Warnon finished first in the 100-yard I.M. (59.30) while Sam Bensin (100-yard Butterfly 57.71), Tim Tellekamp (100-yard backstroke 1:02.68), Tim Quinlan (50-yard freestlye 24.30), and Tommy Carlson (100-yard freestyle 55.49) all had first place finishes.
The women's team was led by
Alyson Baribault (Plantsville, CT/Southington) who placed first in the 100-yard breastroke (1:16.58) and the 100-yard I.M. (1:10.02).
Phoebe King (New Bedford, MA/GNB Voc Tech) finished first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:08.22) while
Emily Medley (Watertown, NY/Watertown) finished first in the 500-yard freestyle (6:18.04).
The Pioneers are back in action next Saturday at home against Skidmore. The meet is set to start at 1 p.m.
