Gabrielle Schnepp (Northville, MI/Belle Tire) and
Lauren Patterson (Burlington, Ontario/Oakville) assisting on the play…
Taylor Osowski (Highlands Ranch, CO/Colorado Selects) had the only Pioneer goal on Sunday...
Emily Coope (Phoenix, AZ/Colorado Tigers) and
Victoria Pelton (Sterling Heights, MI/Belle Tire) assisted Osowski's first of the year.
LEADING THE WAY: Reed has been the high scorer for the Pioneers this season, as she leads the nation with 18 points… She also leads the conference with 10 goals, and is also in the top five in the conference for assists with eight… Reed's seven-game scoring streak was snapped on Sunday, as she has been on a torrid pace to start the season.

Gabrielle Schnepp (Northville, MI/Belle Tire) and freshman
Lauren Patterson (Burlington, Ontario/Oakville) have also been off to a hot start this season… Schnepp is second on the team with 15 points, and has a national-best 11 assists… Schnepp's 15 points rank second in the conference behind Reed… Patterson is right behind Schnepp in all categories, as she is third on the team, as well as fourth in the conference with 13 points… She is second nationally with 10 assists, just one behind Schnepp.
IN THE NET: Junior goaltender,
Keira Goin (Dobbs Ferry, NY/Hotchkiss School) has been stellar in goal for the Pioneers so far, accumulating 176 saves, which puts her in the top five in the ECAC West Conference… Goin also ranks in the top five in the conference in save percentage (.946) and goals against average (1.58).
TEAM EFFORT: Ten different players have now scored at least one goal for the Pioneers so far this season… Besides Reed, Schnepp, and Patterson, junior
Emily Coope (Phoenix, AZ/Colorado Tigers) has three goals, while senior
Janessa Haasbeek (Grand Forks, ND/Canadian International Hockey Academy) is right behind her with two goals… Sophomores
Taylor Osowski (Highlands Ranch, CO/Colorado Selects),
Samantha Husak (Jackson, MI/Grass Lake),
Carlie Smith (Grimsby, Ontario/St. Catharine's Chaos), and freshman
Jennifer Liu (North Saanich, British Columbia/Shaftesbury Titans ) have each chipped in with one goal each.
SCOUTING MORRISVILLE: The Mustangs are off to a 5-0-1 start this season… Kelley Graham has been the top scorer for Morrisville, accumulating 16 points on eight goals and eight assists… Stephanie Strymecki has also been a key asset this season, as she has 13 points on six goals and seven assists… Renee Schmaltz has started five games in net for the Mustangs, saving 83 shots, while allowing just two goals… Schmaltz has a save percentage of .976, and a goals against average of .45.
FAMILIAR FACES: Behind the Morrisville bench are two familiar faces to the UC women's hockey program… Head Coach Melissa Lomanto played for the Pioneers from 2001-2005 before serving as an assistant coach for two seasons… Lomanto is currently tied for fifth in program history with 85 points (38 goals, 47 assists)… Joining Lomanto as an assistant coach for the Mustangs is Jack Kane… Kane was a long time assistant to
Dave Clausen and is a member of the Utica Comets Hall of Fame.
NEXT TIME OUT: Following the matchup against Morrisville, the Pioneers will return to conference action on Dec. 5 and 6 as they take on SUNY Cortland… The first game will be in Cortland on Saturday at 2 p.m., and the second game will be back at the Utica Memorial Auditorium on Sunday at 3 p.m.
