UTICA, NY – The Utica College men's basketball team returns from a two and a half week break on Wednesday night when the Pioneers host Medaille College for a non-conference contest at 2 p.m.

First Semester Wrap Up: The Pioneers closed out the first semester with a 2-5 overall record … UC has wins over SUNY Polytechnic on the road and Chatham University at the Hilbert Tip-Off Tournament … They opened the season with two close losses at the hands of SUNY Cortland (87-85, Final) and Morrisville State (82-74, Final) … Utica's two wins came back-to-back in a span of three days … The Pioneers wrapped up the first semester with a cross division game against Colgate University (Division 1 – Patriot League Member).
Spreading Holiday Cheer: The Pioneers visited Utica Notre Dame Elementary in early December and spent time with Mrs. Connolly's pre-K students … They made ginger bread houses out of graham crackers and candy while enjoying holiday music and spending valuable time with the young students … The UC players that participated were

Tutein Three-time's: Senior guard
Robert Tutein (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) ranks ninth in the Empire 8 with an average of 16.0 points per contest … He has scored in double digits in every game this season and he has netted 24 points on two occasions … His 2.4 3-pointers per contest rank eight in the Empire 8 … He is the eighth player in program-history to make over 100 career 3-pointers … His 103 career 3-pointers made ranks seventh all-time at UC … He also has 544 career points.
Taylor Does it All: Sophomore
Carl Taylor (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) does a little bit of everything for the Pioneers … He is one of their top defenders on the defensive end, ranks third on the team with 8.7 points per game, and he ranks 14
th in the Empire 8 Conference with an average of 3.1 assists per game … He also ranks third on the team with 4.9 rebounds per game.
Deep Threat: Freshman
Seamus McHugh (Latham, NY/Shaker) stretches defenses with his range and currently ranks second on the team with 10 3-pointers this season … His average of 7.7 points per game leads all rookies on the team.
Man in the Middle: Big man
Ivan Iton (Ossining, NY/Ossining) is averaging 6.7 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per contest this season … His top performance of the season was a 21 point, 13 rebound effort in UC's win over Chatham.
Scouting Medaille: The Mavericks are 3-5 on the year and have lost their last two… Most recently, Medaille lost to Morrisville State 107-99 in overtime… UC also fell to the Mustangs, falling 82-74 at home on
Nov. 17… Medaille has four players averaging over 10 points per game, led by Johnathan Belton, who has netted 17.1 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
