Utica, NY – The Utica College women's swim and dive team will be on the road to face Cazenovia College on November 11
th. This dual meet is set to begin at 6:30 p.m.
Last Time Out: The Pioneers defeated Wells College 53-35 in their last competition to improve their record to 3-3.
Alyson Baribault (Plantsville, CT/Southington) recorded two first place finishes at the meet in the 1,000-yard (12:22.58) and 200-yard (2:14.29) freestyle events.
Julia Lamb (Mexico, NY/Mexico),
Michalyn Winkler (Barto, PA/Upper Perkiomen),
Phoebe Ritsick (Wilkes Barre, PA/Holy Redeemer), and
Phoebe King (New Bedford, MA/GNB Voc Tech) earned first place in the 200-yard medley relay (2:08.18). King also finished first with a time of 1:05.69 in the 100-yard butterfly event. Megan Stanton (50-yard freestyle/27.47),
Rebecca Merrill (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford) (200-yard IM/2:38.38), and
Ashley Flint (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) (100-yard freestyle/1:07.33) all placed first in individual events as well.
Scouting Cazenovia: The Cazenovia College women's swim and dive team is currently sitting at a record of 1-5. They most recently just defeated SUNY Delhi with a score of 777-22. Cazenovia earned 16 first place finishes throughout the meet. Morgan Way contributed to four first place finishes. Way came first individually in the 50-yard (29.20), 100-yard (1:02.96), and 200-yard freestyle (2:23.37) events. Way and teammate Brooke Targus were a part of the 400-yard freestyle relay team that placed first with a time of 4:23.88. Targus also earned three individual first placed finishes in the 100-yard butterfly (1:15.96), 200-yard butterfly (2:56.20), and the 200-yard IM (2:39.19) events.
Against Cazenovia: The Pioneers defeated Cazenovia earlier in the season at the Hartwick College Quad Meet on Oct. 22
nd, 174-88. However, in the last dual meet between these two teams, Cazenovia won with a score of 141-93. In that dual meet,
Meagan Stanton (Chemung, NY/Waverly ) (400-yard IM/5:42.75) and
Alyson Baribault (Plantsville, CT/Southington) (200-yard breaststroke/2:45.35) were the only two to earn first place in their events. Morgan Way was a part of the Cazenovia 400-yard freestyle relay that placed first. Nichole Secor earned first in the 500-yard freestyle (5:48.55), 200-yard freestyle (2:07.10) and the 200-yard butterfly (2:41.35) for Cazenovia.
A Glance Ahead: The Utica College women's swim and dive team will face Skidmore College in its next matchup. The dual meet will be on the road and is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. on November 19
th.
