UTICA, NY – The Utica College women's swimming team defeated visiting Cazenovia College 140-82 on Friday night in its home opener and improved to 5-4 overall on the season. The Pioneers have now won four of their last six outings. Utica's

Alyson Baribault (Plantsville, CT/Southington),
Grace Gallentine (Clifton Springs, NY/Midlakes) and
Daniela Hannah (Dalton, GA/Northwest Whitfield) set a new pool record in the women's 800 yard freestyle relay with a time of 8:54.66.
Utica's women's 200 yard individual medley relay team of
Emily Medley (Watertown, NY/Watertown),
Krysta Rehrig (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen),
Rebecca Merrill (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford) and
Meagan Stanton (Chemung, NY/Waverly ) won with a time of 2:07.55 to earn 11 team points for the Pioneers.
Utica's
Julia Lamb (Mexico, NY/Mexico) won the women's 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:41.72, while
Grace Gallentine (Clifton Springs, NY/Midlakes) won the women's 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:13.38.
Phoebe King (New Bedford, MA/GNB Voc Tech) was the top finisher in the women's 50 yard freestyle with a time of 26.68.
Alyson Baribault (Plantsville, CT/Southington) won the women's 400 yard individual medley with a time of 5:19.60 and
Katie Skipp (Albany, NY/Albany) took home the top honors in the women's 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:10.23.
Grace Gallentine (Clifton Springs, NY/Midlakes) added a first place finish in the women's 100 yard freestyle with a time of 59.37.
King came back and won the women's 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:07.19 and Lamb took home first place in the women's 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:52.38. Baribault added the fastest time in the women's 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:14.72.
Utica returns home on Friday, January 13
th for meet two of a four meet stretch at the Clark Athletic Center Pool as the Pioneers host Alfred and Wells in a tri-match scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
