UTICA, NY – The Utica College men and women swim and dive teams fell at home to Clarkson University on Saturday. The men's team ends the regular season 6-7 after the 165-108 defeat. The women's team dropped to 3-11 at the end of the regular season after the 157-106 loss.
The men's team was lead by Raphael Warnon who placed first in the 100-yard backstroke (56.09) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:02.49). Tim Tellekamp placed first in the 100-yard freestyle (49.60) while Chris Halsey (1,000-yard freestyle, 10:54.45) and Aaron Gudrian (100-yard butterfly, 56.98) both had first place finishes.
The women's team was lead by
Grace Gallentine (Clifton Springs, NY/Midlakes) who placed first in the 200-yard (2:08.58), 100-yard (58.55), and 50-yard freestyle (26.52).
Alyson Baribault (Plantsville, CT/Southington) also placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:14.58) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:43.66).
The Pioneers are back in action on February 17-February 20 as they travel to Ithaca for the UNYSCSA/ Empire 8 Championships. The meet times are to be announced at a later date.
