UTICA, NY – The Utica College men's lacrosse team will travel to Keuka College on Wednesday afternoon at Keuka Park, New York. The game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.

Last Time Out: The Pioneers lost 14-5 against Brockport State in Falls Church, Virginia last Saturday … Alex Finnegan (Bay Shore, NY/Islip) led the team with two goals and two assists in the contest … Dominic Castiglia (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool), Matthew Miller (Geneva, NY/Geneva), and Brickman House (Oneida, WI/Pulaski) each tallied a goal as well.

Field General:  Senior Alex Finnegan (Bay Shore, NY/Islip) leads the team with 14 points off of five goals and a team-high nine assists … Finnegan is currently tied for fifth in the Empire 8 Conference in assists per game (1.80) … He also has 10 ground balls and three caused turnovers so far this season.

Junior Standouts: Juniors Matthew Miller (Geneva, NY/Geneva) and Brickman House (Oneida, WI/Pulaski) both scored one goal each in Saturday's loss to Brockport State … Miller currently is tied for third on the team with seven points off of five goals and three assists … Miller is also tied for second on the team with five goals this season … House currently is tied for fourth on the team with six points off of three goals and three assists.

Freshman Sensation: Freshman Dominic Castiglia (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) is second on the team with nine points off of a tied team-high six goals and three assists …Castiglia has started in all five games so far this season and has scored at least one goal in each contest.

Protecting the Net: Senior Andrew DiOrio (Greenlawn, NY/Harborfields) was given the start against Brockport State on Saturday where he finished with 12 saves … He currently sits in third in the Empire 8 Conference in saves per game (11.75) … DiOrio recently became the fourth goalie in program history to record over 400 career saves … He currently ranks fourth all-time at UC with 408 career saves and he needs 33 saves to surpass Bruce Wright for third all-time … He also has 16 career victories which ranks second all-time to Shawn Ryan '06 who holds the school-record with 23 ... UC has also used junior Parker Smith (Dexter, NY/General Brown), freshman Harrison Bower (Northport, NY/Kings Park), and freshman Brad Schulman (Airmont, NY/Suffern) between the pipes as well … Smith is fourth in conference in goals against average (5.54).

Defense: UC is fourth in the conference in caused turnovers per game (9.40) … Junior Rusty Dessert (Islip, NY/Islip) leads the team with nine caused turnovers and is sixth in conference in caused turnovers per game (1.80) … Tyler Nicolaus (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) has seven caused turnovers this season while Jordan Ryan has six.

Against Keuka: This will be sixth matchup all-time against Keuka and the first time both have played each other since 2004 … The Pioneers have a 4-1 overall record against the Wolfpack. 

Scouting the Wolfpack: Keuka is 2-1 this season (1-1 at home and 1-0 on the road) … The Wolfpack is coming off a loss against Brockport State (3/4/2016) … They have scored an average of 13.00 goals per game to go along with 43.0 shots per game … Seniors Tyler Skowronksi (12 goals and two assists) and Matt Beebe (nine goals and five assists) are tied with 14 points each … In the net is junior Jacob Wood, who has 43 saves this season.
