Utica, NY – The Utica College men's lacrosse team travels to St. John Fisher College for an Empire 8 Conference matchup on Saturday. The game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
 
Last Time Out: The Pioneers lost 20-9 against Stevens Institute of Technology in Utica on Wednesday… Dominic Castiglia (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) led the team with five goals in the contest … Patrick Mulligan (Commack, NY/Commack), Ryan Desveaux (Bowmanville, ONT/St. Stephen Catholic), Alex Finnegan (Bay Shore, NY/Islip), and Nick Yelich (Lancaster, NY/Depew) each tallied a goal as well.
 
Setting the Standard: Castiglia leads the team with 39 points off of 31 goals and eight assists … Castiglia is sixth in the Empire 8 Conference in goals per game (2.58) … He is just the eighth player in program-history to score 30 or more goals in a single season.
 
Senior Standouts: Senior Alex Finnegan (Bay Shore, NY/Islip) ranks second on the team with 31 points and he is first on the team with 22 assists … He is fifth in the Empire 8 in assists per game (1.83) … Classmate Patrick Mulligan (Commack, NY/Commack) has five goals and eight total points on the season.
 
Providing Depth: Sophomore Ryan Desveaux (Bowmanville, ONT/St. Stephen Catholic) is second on the team with 15 goals and he has 19 total points (four assists) … Junior Brickman House (Oneida, WI/Pulaski) has 11 goals and 10 assists so far on the season for 21 total points and 20 groundballs.

Protecting the Net: Andrew DiOrio (Greenlawn, NY/Harborfields) and Parker Smith (Dexter, NY/General Brown) both played against Stevens Institute of Technology on Wednesday where DiOrio finished with 15 saves and Smith finished with two … DiOrio currently sits second in the Empire 8 Conference in saves per game (13.10) … He has 131 saves and a .486 save percentage … He is 14^th in the Empire 8 Conference in save percentage (.465)… DiOrio currently ranks third on the College's all-time saves list and needs eight more to become just the third player in program-history with 500+ career saves … Parker has racked up 16 saves on the season and has a save percentage .615.
 
Leading the Defense: Rusty Dessert (Islip, NY/Islip) and Tyler Nicolaus (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) are tied for first on the team with 20 caused turnovers … They both tie for the seventh and eighth spots in the Empire 8 Conference for caused turnovers …  Matt Werkmeister (Chaska, MN/Chaska) is third on the team with 15 caused turnovers ... Nicolaus is first on the team with 37 groundballs and Dessert is second on the team with 35 groundballs.  
 
Overall Record: The Pioneers look to snap a three game skid on Saturday … Utica currently holds a 2-10 overall record and a 1-4 mark in the Empire 8 Conference.
 
Scouting Fisher: The Cardinals are 6-7 overall with a 3-3 Conference record … They are led by Andrew Rosso (38 points off of 16 goals and 22 assists) and Nick Papayanakos (32 points off of 22 goals and 10 assists) … Goalie Tanner Swan (112 saves, a .483 save percentage, and a 12.01 goals against average) is likely to start in net.
