Utica, NY – The Utica College baseball team is set for an Empire 8 Conference match up against St. John Fisher at the UC baseball field this weekend. Sunday will be a doubleheader that is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.

Vincent Burillo (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central ) ripped the game-winning double down the left field line, scoring
JT Ross (New York Mills, NY/New York Mills) and
Adam Pexton (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro), to help complete the Pioneer rally … The second game of the doubleheader was halted at 10-5 in the top of the sixth inning due to darkness and will be completed at a later date.
Hot Bat: Utica freshman
Tim Quinlan (Monroe, CT/Masuck) is still making a huge impact for UC after being moved up from the junior varsity program … In his last game, Quinlan led the team with three RBIs in a victory over Elmira College … He now has seven RBIs, two doubles, and a triple in six games played... Quinlan leads the Pioneers with a .471 batting average … He also provides speed on the base paths as he has swiped two bags.
Pitching Staff: Senior
Joshua Webb (Verona, NY/VVS) leads the Pioneers pitching staff this season … Webb has pitched 18.2 innings and has a team-best 24 strikeouts … He is seventh in the conference with a 3.37 earned run average and has a 1-1 overall record … Junior
Ed Zakrzewski (Rome, NY/Rome Catholic) leads UC with a 2.45 ERA this season … In 11.0 innings of work, he has 12 strikeouts and has allowed just three earned runs.
St. John Fisher: Fisher won its fifth straight game on Friday, as the Cardinals notched a 4-2 win over Rochester Institute of Technology on Friday… With the win, Fisher improves to 13-6 (3-0 in conference)… The last time the Pioneers defeated Fisher was on April 10, 2011, when Utica came away with a 9-7 victory.
