Utica, NY -- The Utica College men and women's swim and dive team lost at home against Nazareth College on Saturday. The men lost by a score of 194-78, making the team's record 6-5 on the season. The women's record falls to 6-6 on the season after the 190-78 loss.
TJ Tellekamp placed first in the 100-yard freestyle event with a time of 49.53. He was also able to earn second place finishes in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 57.05 and in the 100-yard backstroke event with a time of 59.79. Diver Matt Patton came in first place in the 1 meter diving event after earning scores of 150.19 and 241.95. Daniel Angotti placed second in the 200-yard backstroke, finishing in 2:13.12. Angotti, Tommy Carlson, Keihin Lee, and John Blashke finished second in the 200-yard freestyle relay, recording a time of 1:35.76.Â
The women's 200-yard medley relay team of
Phoebe King (New Bedford, MA/GNB Voc Tech),
Emily Medley (Watertown, NY/Watertown),
Alyson Baribault (Plantsville, CT/Southington), and
Grace Gallentine (Clifton Springs, NY/Midlakes) placed first with a time of 2:01.09. King also placed first individually in the 100-yard backstroke event with a time of 1:08.04. Baribault earned two second place finishes individually in the 100-yard breaststroke event (1:14.69) and the 200-yard breaststroke event (2:44.24). Gallentine placed second in the 100-yard butterfly event with a time of 1:15.37.
The Pioneers will return to the pool on January 28th as they will host St. Lawrence University. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
