Utica, NY - The Utica College women's swim and dive team hosted Herkimer County Community College (HCCC) and Cazenovia on Friday. The Pioneers came away with a 157-33 win over HCCC and defeated Cazenovia by a score of 124-95.
Phoebe King (New Bedford, MA/GNB Voc Tech) earned three first place finishes at the meet. King came in first individually in the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle events, with times of 2:01.23 and 5:39.80. She was joined by her teammates
Kelcey Madigan (Waverly, NY/Waverly),
Rebecca Merrill (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford), and
Grace Gallentine (Clifton Springs, NY/Midlakes), finishing first in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:02.15.
In the 50-yard freestyle race,
Grace Gallentine (Clifton Springs, NY/Midlakes) was victorious with her completion time of 26.63. Gallentine clocked in at 58.11, on her way to coming in first during the 100-yard freestyle event. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of
Katie Skipp (Albany, NY/Albany),
Mindy Maryhugh (Boonville, NY/Adirondack),
Meagan Stanton (Chemung, NY/Waverly), and
Krysta Rehrig (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen) won the event with a mark of 1:56.84.
Kelcey Madigan (Waverly, NY/Waverly) placed first in the 200-yard IM, while
Rebecca Merrill (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford) earned a top-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly.
The Pioneers will be on the road for their next meet, as they will face Hamilton College in a dual meet on November 17th. The competition is set to start at 5 p.m.
