Cazenovia, NY – The Utica College women's swim and dive team faced-off against Cazenovia, on the road, on Friday. The Pioneers won a close competition, by a final score of 117-105.
Phoebe King (New Bedford, MA/GNB Voc Tech) placed first and set a new pool record time of 2:02.06, in the 200-yard freestyle event. King also earned a top-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle, with a time of 5:37.73. She was joined by
Kelcey Madigan (Waverly, NY/Waverly),
Rebecca Merrill (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford), and
Grace Gallentine (Clifton Springs, NY/Midlakes) to swim a time of 4:30.50 for a first-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay.
Grace Gallentine (Clifton Springs, NY/Midlakes) earned two first place finishes individually, in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events.
Meagan Stanton (Chemung, NY/Waverly) came in first during the 100-yard backstroke race, with a time of 1:10.89.
Kelcey Madigan (Waverly, NY/Waverly) placed second in both the 100-yard IM and 100-yard breaststroke, while teammate
Krysta Rehrig (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen) finished second in the 100-yard freestyle race with a time of 1:02.51.
The Pioneers don't compete again until January 12th of the new year, as they will travel to Alfred University. The dual meet is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
