Potsdam, NY -- The Utica College women's swim and dive team fell to Clarkson University on Saturday, 165-109. UC's record drops to 6-8 so far this season.
Phoebe King (New Bedford, MA/GNB Voc Tech),
Alyson Baribault (Plantsville, CT/Southington),
Rebecca Merrill (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford), and
Emily Medley (Watertown, NY/Watertown) placed second in the 200M medley relay event with a time of 2:19.54. Baribault earned first place in two events individually, winning the 50M breaststroke event (37.80) and the 400M freestyle event (5:10.48). She also finished second in the 100M freestyle race with a time of 1:09.44. King earned second place individually in the 50M butterfly with a time of 33.72.
Katie Skipp (Albany, NY/Albany),
Mindy Maryhugh (Boonville, NY/Adirondack),
Jordan Mercer (Oneida, NY/Oneida), and
Krysta Rehrig (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen) teamed up to finish first in the 200M freestyle relay with a time of 2:14.64. Rehrig came in second place individually with a time of 1:28.00 in the 100M breaststroke event.
Grace Gallentine (Clifton Springs, NY/Midlakes) placed second in the 200M freestyle event with a time of 2:23.19.
Daniela Hannah (Dalton, GA/Northwest Whitfield),
Rebecca Merrill (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford), and
Meagan Stanton (Chemung, NY/Waverly ) earned first/second/third in the 100M IM event. The sweep of this event scored all 16 possible points from the event for the Pioneers.
UC will now prepare for the UNYSCSA Championships hosted by Ithaca College. Competition for this meet are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, February 14th.
