Oneonta, NY – The Utica College women's swim and dive team competed at the Hartwick Quad Meet on Saturday. While the team lost to Hartwick (227-43) and The College of Saint Rose (178-77), the Pioneers pulled out a 152-62 victory over SUNY Cobleskill.
Rebecca Merrill (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford) came in third place in the 200-yard butterfly event with a time of 2:30.65. She was involved with UC's 200-yard medley relay team that placed fourth with a time of 2:12.61. Other members of the medley relay team consist of
Daniela Hannah (Dalton, GA/Northwest Whitfield),
Ashley Flint (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) and
Lara McNamara (Yonkers, NY/Maria Regina).
Flint earned fifth place in both the 100-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard breaststroke. McNamara and Flint were joined by freshmen
Emma Blenis (Norwich, NY/Norwich) and
Kira Seaman (Fort Edward, NY/Hudson Falls) to place fifth in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
The Pioneers are back in action next Saturday as they travel for a dual meet against William Smith College. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
