Utica, NY – The Utica College women's swim and dive team was at home Friday for the Utica College Quad Meet. The Pioneers swept the field of competitors on the day, defeating HCCC, Cazenovia, and Roberts Wesleyan.
Daniela Hannah (Dalton, GA/Northwest Whitfield) swam times of 2:16.10 in the 200-yard freestyle and 5:56.59 in the 500-yard freestyle, earning a top place finish in both. She was joined by
Jamie Cassetta (Franklin Square, NY/Carey),
Ashley Flint (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro), and
Rebecca Merrill (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford) to win the 400-yard medley relay.
Rebecca Merrill (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford) went on to place first in the 200-yard butterfly and the 200-yard IM individually.
Lara McNamara (Yonkers, NY/Maria Regina) earned second place in the 200-yard freestyle with a finishing time of 2:22.52 and came in second in the 100-yard freestyle event.
The Pioneers are back in action next Friday, as they head to Hamilton College for a dual meet. The competition is set to begin at 5:30 p.m.
